Electrical and power tenders in India: what is open, who buys and where
HT and LT switchgear, cables, transformers, DG sets, lighting, lifts and fire systems. On 4 October 2026, 2,153 electrical and power tenders were open on the portals ScanX reads, 1,329 of them closing within a week.

Where electrical and power tenders appear
CPPP, CPWD, state portals on GePNIC, GeM, power PSUs and utilities.
Electrical work is spread across more portals than any other trade: central works departments, state utilities on GePNIC, power PSUs and GeM, often with the same procurement listed twice.

How each portal is read
- GeM
- GeM's whole bid feed, read hourly since 22 September 2026. Bids published before then are held in full only for a few departments, so counts of older bids understate the market.
- Defence eProcurement
- Read by closing date: a tender is held in its last seven days. Counted in Open now only.
- CPPP
- A sample: about 250 tenders a weekday from the newest pages of a listing that carried about 31,000 live tenders when counted on 20 August 2026.
- CPWD eTender
- Read hourly since 8 September 2026, EMD included. CPWD gives no publication date, so the hour ScanX first read a tender stands in for one.
- Buyers' own tender sites
- Buyers that publish on their own sites rather than the national portals. Each site's public tender list is read whole, from the day its reader was added in September 2026. Where a site gives no publication date, the hour ScanX first read a tender stands in.
- CPPP state tenders
- A sample: the first 50 tenders of each closing day, a week ahead. Read by closing date, so counted in Open now only.
- Defence PSU eProcurement
- Seven defence PSUs on one NIC system, read by closing date two weeks ahead. Counted in Open now only.
Buyers with the most open tenders
As each portal names the buyer. GeM names the department, Defence eProcurement the head of the unit chain. Buyers read from their own tender sites are counted in the totals, not ranked here.

Measured 4 October 2026 at 02:13 IST from the store the collector writes every hour. This page is rebuilt from a new snapshot, and every figure on it moves with the next one.

- Titles that mention transformers, switchgear or switchboards, substations, electrification, electrical works, installations, maintenance or equipment, E&M work, HT, LT, HV or LV panels, lines and cables, a voltage in kV or a rating in kVA, DG sets, diesel generators and gensets, power, control, XLPE, armoured, PVC or FRLS cables, cable laying and jointing, ACSR and AAAC conductor, feeder pillars and distribution boards, street, high mast, flood and LED lighting, lifts, elevators and escalators, fire alarm, detection, hydrant, sprinkler and fire fighting systems, earthing, lightning arresters, capacitor banks, circuit breakers (VCB, ACB, MCCB), ring main units, wiring, and energy meters. Titles that mention forklifts, boom or scissor lifts, lift irrigation, lifting or welding transformers are left out.

The window starts on 22 September 2026, the day ScanX began reading GeM's whole feed, and will grow to 90 days as the store does. CPPP's figure is a sample, as its note above says.

- From the publication date to the closing date as last read, so an extension already published counts. CPWD and some buyers' own sites publish no date, so the hour ScanX first read a tender stands in.
- Counted once
- A procurement listed on two portals counts once in every total, joined on its reference number with case, spacing and punctuation removed. GeM reverse auctions that follow an earlier bid are left out, because only that bid's qualified bidders may take part.
- Not read
- These are counts of what ScanX reads, not of every tender in India. ScanX does not read IREPS, municipal portals or state portals outside GePNIC, and on GeM it reads the listing, not every bid document.
